Makeup Storage: MUJI 5 Drawer & 2 Drawer

Okay so recently I decided I needed to update my Makeup Storage.

I've been using the Storage Bins from Office Depot with the 12 drawers and It's worked, until now. I feel that I need to weed out what I NEED instead of what I WANT, soon! otherwise I will be on a show called Hoarders :)

So I've been buying little at a time. Just to see how I'm liking how it looks.

I was really interested in the Acrylic Cube but wasn't ready to drop over $150.

So instead I purchased 2 Acrylic storage drawers from Muji. One is a 5 drawer case and the other is 3 with a lifting lid. Bought one of each just to see how much I would be able to fit. I was concerned with the depth of the drawers. I wanted something that would be able to fit my Paintpots and Tendertones.

Brand: Muji Acrylic Case 5 Drawers- $27.95
Muji Acrylic Case 2 Drawers with Lifting Lid- $26.75

Shipping was pretty fast. From what I've read is that they are usually out of stock. I was happy to see they had both in stock. Shipping was $9.95 for both and they both came really protected. With layer after layer of bubble wrap.

I hadn't realized how many lipsticks and lip products I have. I will need to purchase another one of these 5 drawers. I like it because I don't have to stack products and its easy to find what I need. I just need to learn to throw away the boxes items come in. Anyone else keep them like I do?

I'm pretty sure that if I learn to throw away the boxes more would fit. =/ Right now 22 lipsticks fit per drawer.

Here's what the 2 drawer looks like. I really like that it fits my Paintpots and Tendertones because those have the most height. It definitely fits my blushes and face powders. I was more concerned finding something that fit the other two. Now it wont fit foundation bottles or stuff like that. I will need to find other acrylic boxes that will.

Have any storage advice? This is definitely a work in progress.

What's In Your Makeup Bag?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours ;)

As one can see, my bag is really stuffed. I'm surprised the tab sticks onto the Velcro and it doesn't snap off.  I didn't realized how much makeup I really had in the bag until I took everything out. I use everything in the bag with the exception of my lipstick/lipgloss depending what I decide to put on my lips that day I just add it into the bag.

At the moment my favorite eyeshadow brand is INGLOT. The quality and color pay off is amazing. When I discovered INGLOT one wasn't able to purchase it online and the only US store was in NY. So when I found out Las Vegas had opened an INGLOT I made it a mission to go check it out. Now that they opened a store in CA and a couple of Macy's carry the brand and of course online shopping I don't need to trek the 6 hour trip to Vegas. I'll make sure to post reviews and swatches of eyeshadows I've purchased.

I use Urban Decays Primer Potion as a base for my eyeshadows and it makes the eyeshadow last all day without creasing on my lids.

Now I can't go a day without doing my eyebrows as I have light hair and my eyebrows are pretty much black. When I forgo a makeup day I NEED to color in my brows and I've found that ELF's Studio Line e]Eyebrow Mascara in Medium works GREAT! It's really inexpensive especially since I use it everyday.

MAC Tendertones are my all time favorite lipgloss. They smell delicious and taste good. Not that I eat them (intentionally) anyway. They recently re-released it with MAC Shop Shop Shop Cook Cook Cook aka MAC S3C3 and I had to re-stock because its been a while since they've released it. The one pictures is Soft Note released in 2008. That one and Shush! were my last two so I'm glad I picked up some more.

My favorite liquid eyeliner is Maybelline's Ultra Liner in Waterproof Black. I've been using this since Junior High (many many moons ago) when it was actually Junior High and not Middle School in OUSD.

I use MUFE's eyeliners in my tear ducts. I really like this eyeliner because it is waterproof and they are actually pigmented and easy to work with. I will be doing a review on the liners.

ELF's Cream Eyeliner is used on my waterline and it doesn't smudge or fade. I've found that because it isn't too creamy or too dry it doesn't irritate my waterline and it doesn't fade. It would last my 10 hour work days so that's a plus for me.

As far as foundation regime for me I first apply my sunblock and at this time I'm using MAC's Prep+Prime Face Protect SPF 50. It's oil-free so that's a plus for my face. It feels very lightweight. Then I apply my Eve Pearl Priming Moisturizer, Foundation, and finally set it with my MSFN Powder. Add blush, highlight powder, mascara, and TADA I'm done. I've got it done all in 20 minutes.  Just as long as I don't sit down in front of the TV and something good is on because then it will take a lot longer.
